Rough Terrain Forklift
At construction sites and other kinds of environments where the surface is not paved, the rough terrain forklift is best. This particular kind of forklift is utilized to transport materials around lumberyards.

These forklifts are designed for rough terrain. Then again, the machinery is top heavy and has to be carefully handled in rough areas. The equipment needs to be level with all tires on the ground when lifting.

At higher speeds, steering is harder. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration does not set speed limitations on forklifts. Nonetheless, operators are responsible for operating forklifts at a speed which is safe, especially if turning and driving on rough terrain.

To avoid a tip over, never raise a load while operating on an incline. The load must be on the uphill side of the equipment if driving up a slope. When driving down an incline, it is good safety practice to back down.
