The Carriage
The carriage is similar to a conventional lift truck as the lifting attachment can be tilted forwards and backwards from its horizontal. The tilt which is possible on this machine exceeds more than that of the vertical masts. There are various types of available lifting attachments, and this ability to position makes them as effective as possible.
Most telehandlers could tilt forward to a point where the carriage is actually parallel with the ground believe it or not! In addition, a lot of models provide rotating carriages too. This allows the operator to adjust the lifting attachment radially. This translates to the load being capable of being tilted backwards and forwards, and side to side.
Load Capacity
Telehandlers have a load capacity quite similar to that of the vertical mast model. The model's overall capacity will be dependent on things like: boom angle and extension, whether the unit is lifting on rubber tires or on outriggers, and the amount of boom transaction deployed, if this is applicable. Additionally, which lifting attachment plays an main part, as does the wind, the grade the equipment is operating on et cetera. All of these specifics can be changing constantly and this gives the operator a lot more information to think about.
Telehandlers would usually have some different load charts available to them, giving them a good reference they could use to know a particular lift's load capacity. Depending on the unit in particular and the configuration of the boom, the load capacity could vary by thousands of pounds all together.
