Change an LPG Cylinder
Forklifts are powered by a variety of sources. They could run utilizing gasoline, liquid propane or LP gas, diesel or battery. LP is a clean burning fuel ideal for many uses. There are some facilities that have large liquid propane supplies on site. This enables forklifts to be refueled anytime they need. In other places, the facility will have spare LP cylinders that could be changed out when the machinery must be refueled.
When changing out an LP cylinder, you must really be careful so as to avoid possible serious injuries. Like for example: be sure to put on the correct safety equipment such as safety glasses or goggles and heavy gloves. Make sure that you turned off the ignition of the forklift before changing out the tank. Next, close the cylinder valve by turning it until it is firmly closed. Utilize your hand to loosen the hose connection to the tank. Don't forget that it will turn in the opposite direction of a standard connection and never use any type of wrench or a metal tool on these connections. They are meant to be tightened by hand only.
